If this is your first session with Tara: expect a “very outgoing, fun, kid-friendly person”
I very much want you and your children, or family to enjoy our session. I try to make it enjoyable for everyone involved, while still working hard to ensure that you get the results that you desire. I will always suggest poses and do posed shots; however, my preference is to simply let everyone interact together so that I may capture genuine expressions…and you-being you! My goal is to capture the real you and your personality!
When you make your appointment, please be prepared to discuss your goals and desires and what you’d like to get out of your session.
Your session can be at my studio (outdoor locations available) or at a location of your choosing (travel charges may apply…please inquire).
Two options have been developed for your initial investment, in an effort to allow you to choose which is most important to YOU!
Basic Creation Fee-$125 ($150 for 10 or more people)
* additional minimum order of $150 is required for this session type.
Includes: photographer’s time and talent, online proofing gallery, minor photo retouching and editing, telephone consultation for location, clothing and style suggestions and your goals for the session. (session fee is due at the session, additional order amount is due at the time of ordering)
Creation plus–$325
Includes: photographer’s time and talent, online proofing gallery, minor photo retouching and editing, telephone consultation for location, clothing and style suggestions and your goals for the session. This also includes your entire gallery uploaded to a professional lab where you can order your own prints at Lab Direct Prices!! This fee covers the rights to reprint your images for sizes wallet to 5×7. All prints 8×10 and larger as well as specialty items, such as Gallery Wrapped Canvas, custom albums, announcements and cards must still be ordered directly through the Studio ($100 minimum order for additional prints). (payable at the time of your session)
Children/Newborn Sessions:
As a mother of two young children, I truly understand the importance of making your child feel comformtable. I will use the beginning of the session to get to know you and your children. Since children tend to work at their own pace, I do not set a time limit on your session. Plan on it lasting anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours. Breaks, snack or even naps for little ones are perfectly fine! However, please try to schedule the time of day that is best for your child/children.
Another thing to consider is the number of people that will be present. Children are easily distracted. Therefore, it is best to limit the number of people not being photographed that are present at the session.
For Newborns: I prefer to do “naked baby” shots…if your newborn does not like to be naked, please let me know this before the session begins. We can also certainly do clothed poses as well. Maybe there is a special “going home” outfit that you’d like to use. However, please remember, simple is better. Also, if your child is sleeping, do not wake them for the session. In fact, I would prefer that they were asleep at least part of the session. There is nothing sweeter than a sleeping baby and a photograph of it!
Mini Sessions: Several times during the year, I offer Mini Sessions. These are usually centered around holidays and are 15-20 minutes in length and are at a discounted rate. I offer these for several reasons, but primarily because I believe that everyone should have wonderful, professional pictures of their children and this provides the opportunity for that, despite time and budget constraints! Clothing suggestions:
Simple is the best! For families or groups, I prefer coordinating colors rather than everyone dressed exactly alike. Please avoid patterns (stripes or plaids). If in doubt, feel free to bring several options with you and I’ll offer my suggestions!
Proofs:
Your proofs will be available approximately 7-10 days after your session. I will send you a notification via email that will include the link and password to your album, prices, and ordering instructions.
I currently only offer online proofing. However, if you are unable to view your proofs online, please let me know in advance so that we may make other arrangements.
